Why would you carry those books?

“But that still doesn’t answer my question, ‘why would you carry books with such material on them?’”— I heard Mr. Bruce pronounced the words for the last time.

This question has hunted me ever since that day. “Why?... why am I really doing what I’m doing?”

Such is the type of questions that bring us to defining conclusions in life, and even though I’ve failed the test miserably, I’m happy to know enough of Him to be sure that—He loves me still.

If there is a verse that summarizes my summer 2019, that verse is Isa. 46:4: [The Lord says,] "Even to your old age and gray hairs, I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.”

As Lauren Daigle says:

“I will send out an army
To find You in the middle of the darkest night.
It's true, I will rescue you.”

What promise are you holding on to today?
