Friends-like-Family

“God causes the lonely to dwell in families.” (Ps. 68:6)

I still remember our conversation as if it were yesterday. My choir director was sitting across me while listening to what I had to say. As I stumbled over one word and the next, all of the sudden she announced the following verse—“The Lord places the lonely in families.” Perhaps this is nonsense for many of you who grew-up in relatively normal homes. But for a girl that always wanted a non-broken family (which includes a mom, a dad and siblings that still remain together), that sounded just like music from heaven.

Fast forward a year—I don’t only have a family that treats me as one of their own, but also have a convo of the craziest road trips, shared tasty meals, the most fun/goofy after-midnight conversations, the loudest laughters, the most beautiful dreams to pray about among a million other blessings turned into unforgettable memories.

I couldn’t be more thankful. Praises be to my Heavenly Father for His faithfulness and all-consuming love.

Goodbyes are the worst, but they hold the promise of returning.
