Selfishness

“Do not be concerned about your own interests, but also be concerned about the interests of others.” (Philippians 2:4)
SELFLESSNESS—what a big word! In my short years of life, I’ve witnessed enough to know that it’s human to be selfish.

This, of course, is contrary to what we see in nature all around us. You see, plants selflessly give us food in due season. Animals selflessly fill our lives with joy. Trees selflessly provide us with shade while waterfalls selflessly give us the perfect coolness during hot summer days. Beyond that, their own Creator selflessly wandered around for three years feeding the poor and giving cure to the helpless.

What if you come across people that act the same way? To place someone else before you without thinking, is it really possible? Well, I’m blessed to say that I’ve encountered someone and I’m still astonished. I’m walking away from this weekend with an inspired spirit, and I have to thank one woman for that—Mrs. K. L.
