Love Never Fails
“Love never fails.” (1 Cor 13:8)
Where to begin, no idea, but I should probably start off by expressing the clearest conclusion so far—mission work is not as easy as one can think while comfortably sitting in a dining-room in America. In my intent to encompass this idea, I’ll just say that the mission field can turn into a very hostile one when circumstances and different negative factors keep piling up.
But, despite all the negatives that can try to crash you down, LIGHT will always outrun darkness, isn’t that right? This is when this beautiful little soul and I crossed paths. Picture this: we’ve never met before, we’ll probably never meet again in this earth, and we don’t even speak the same language. I’m a complete stranger, a traveler from afar, and at that point, the only white skin person in her entire village. Still, she started smiling and waving at me as soon as I showed up in the scene. She would make her mom hold her tiny body up high just to stretch out her hand while offering me the warmest smile ever. How is that even possible?
Only one answer comes to my mind—“love is an universal language.” It does not judge, it does not reject, it does not pick n’ choose, it does not seek to hurt, it does not lie, it does not imprison, it does not forget, it does not change.
On the contrary, it breaks evil barriers and seeks after goodness, it seeks after peace, it seeks after healing, it seeks after every single good thing that the human mind can ever grasp. No wonder Someone who loves me to death assures me that it NEVER fails.
The choice is mine. Will you choose it as well?
